Taylor laboratory running experiments!

With the largest room of our laboratory open, the Tulane vivarium open, and all laboratory members back on-site, we are now running experiments! New Orleans is coming back and we are proud to be part of this recovery.

Recovery of the Taylor Laboratory

All key members of the laboratory have shown incredible courage and dedication following the winds and floods at the end of August. Many have found opportunity amidst the disaster. Three members have arranged temporary laboratory arrangements at UCSF (kindly sponsored by Dr. Allan Basbaum), and three other members plus Dr. Taylor have worked in their own lab space provided by the University of Arizona Arthritis Center (kindly arranged by Dr. Frank Porreca). We have generated not only some fascinating data, but are also submitting several supplemental and training grant proposals by the end of this year.

But now as the end of the year approaches, we look forward to returning to New Orleans and Tulane University during the first part of January. Indeed, research facilities at Tulane are gradually coming back on-line. Our largest laboratory in Room 3058A of the School of Medicine building is scheduled to re-open this month, and the rest of the lab will follow in January. We look forward to being fully operational by early February.
